Grade 4 Students Excel at Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling Contest

Grade 4 students from Trina Naclerio’s class at Lenape Elementary dove deep into their science curriculum in June, learning about types of energy and the impact of excess carbon on our environment. They explored ways to protect our Earth by reducing, reusing, recycling, and utilizing green energy. As part of this effort, students created posters to inspire others to take action and protect our planet.

The amazing posters were entered into the New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling (NYSAR3) contest, whose themes were "Climate Change Affects Us All" and "The First R - Reduction."

We are thrilled to announce that several of our students received recognition for their outstanding work!

  • Ida - Winner, NYS Recycles Calendar Cover
  • Taige - 1st Place, Grade 4-5 Category (not pictured)
  • Grady and Carmella, Tied for 3rd Place, Grade 4-5 Category
  • Madelyn - Honorable Mention

Congratulations to these students on their fantastic achievements, and a huge shoutout to Morgan Profaci and Ayesha Ibrahim for their invaluable support.
