• Tips for Supporting Students with Handwriting
    1. Print starts from the top and goes to the bottom (Pull down)

    2. Practicing on large surfaces and moving toward smaller surfaces helps letter patterns become part of the muscle memory.

    3. Refer to letter placement on three lined paper as if placing them in a house.
Upstairs letters start on the top line and stop at the bottom line.
        (b, d, f, h, k, l, t)
Downstairs letters start on the middle line and stop at the bottom line.
        (a, c, e, i, m, n, o, r, s, u, v, w, x, z )
Basement letters start at the middle line "explode" through the bottom line in the
        basement. (g, j, p, q, y,)

    4. Practice letters by their placement on the line. For example, practice all the upstairs   letters together so the student will learn which letters belong in that category.
