It's time for the Third Annual Michael Perkins Poetry Prize!  The MPPP is named for my father, Michael Perkins, who was a writer and poet who lived in Ulster County for most of his adult life and died in 2022.  Our family established the prize along with The Friends of the Woodstock Library.  The first two years of the contest demonstrated how meaningful poetry can be not only as an art form, but also as a learning tool.  All students receive feedback on their work from published poets with impressive resumes, and the award ceremony includes a poetry reading of the student and adult work.  Please see the flyer HERE

We are excited to award two students (grades 9–12) with the $500 Compassion in Action Award. This award is not based on GPA or academic rigor but recognizes compassionate actions—whether through volunteer efforts, course selection or personal sacrifices, such as caring for a family member.

The Hudson Valley Latino Scholarship awards program was created in 1999 by the Ramirez family to recognize the academic achievements and community service of our local Latino high school seniors. Please come to the student support center to pick up an application. The deadline to mail in the application is April 4, 2025.You can also print the application from www.hvlatinoscholarship.org
