    Now Open to Any High School Senior in Ulster County!

     

    $2,000 1st Place; $1,000 2nd Place; $500 3rd Place

     

    (New Paltz, NY) — Ulster County high school seniors planning on putting their college education and eventual career to use towards making our world a better one should apply for The Ulster County 2024 Padraig Julius Tobin Flusser Economic and Social Justice Scholarship

     

    The scholarship award will be $2000 1st Place; $1000 2nd Place; and $500 3rd Place. The scholarship is intended for Ulster County high school seniors enrolled in college in fall 2024, who are pursuing a career path dedicated to social justice, while actively engaged in peace and economic equity efforts.

     

    “The award is a continuation of a New Paltz Village Board scholarship begun in 2021,” said William Wheeler Murray. “It was decided to name the scholarship to honor Padraig Julius Tobin Flusser who strongly believed in the principles of economic and social justice. Initially the scholarship was for New Paltz students but this year we’re opening it up to high school seniors enrolled in Ulster County.”

     

    Application deadline: Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at noon

    Award announcement: Friday, July 26, 2024

     

    Please alert students who may be eligible and interested in this opportunity.

     

    Financial need and the selection of students from traditionally marginalized populations will be considered in making this award but shall not be the sole determining award factor.

  • NPAA Scholarship

    This scholarship is open to all seniors that have been a member of at least two varsity teams during their
    time at New Paltz High School. To be considered, applicants must also be students in good standing,
    have participated in community service activities, demonstrate a diversity of interests (extracurricular
    activities not related to sports) and are committed to furthering their education after high school. One
    girl and one boy will be selected as the recipient of a $500.00 scholarship which will be awarded at the
    Athletic Association Banquet. Winners will be selected on the basis of an essay, no longer than one and
    one-half page. Judges will not know the identity of the essay’s author during the selection process.
    Please place your name ONLY on this page. This cover sheet, the sheet with your activities and your essay
    must be returned together to the Athletic Office by 5/24/24. Please see application HERE

  • Woodcrest Award Program

    The Woodcrest Community would like to offer three Awards to deserving high school seniors graduating from the New Paltz Central High School.

    The name of the award is the Woodcrest Community Award. The dollar amount for each of the award is $1000.  The criteria for each award is the completion of the accompanying application form and a 150-word essay from the applicant addressing why he or she could use the award.

    The Greystone Foundation is offering a one-time financial scholarship of 1,5000.00 to (3) graduating high school students living in Dutchess, Orange or Ulster counties in NY.

  • UCHC Youth Scholarship

    Ulster County Horse Council proudly offers a $500 Scholarship to a current Ulster County high school student.

     
    REQUIREMENTS:
    ● Ulster County resident
    ● Student to include a cover page biography that tells UCHC about yourself;  include Name, Address, Age, Graduating High School,  Equine background, Major and College,  Field of interest. 
    ●A letter of recommendation from a non family member. 
    ●Include a 500 word essay on the following topic;  "THERAPUTIC RIDING PROGRAMS".
    ●Due May 30, 2024

  • May Evans & Lucille Pritchard Endowment Scholarship

    We are pleased to be offering two May Evans and Lucille Pritchard Endowment Fund Scholarships for $2,000.00 each.  The scholarships will be awarded to residents of Ulster County.   Applicants must be students who will be attending college or graduate school in the fall of 2024, and priority will be given to those majoring in a mental health related field.

    The deadline for applications is May 17, 2024.  The scholarships will be presented in the spring.  You can find the the application here.

  • Steven Pinelli, Elvalee Woodside & Mavoureen Hubbard Memorial Scholarship

    Three (3) separate $1500.00 scholarships will be awarded to three best Senior applicants planning to attend an institution of higher education with a major course of study in Food Service, Hospitality,Hotel Management or Dietetics.

    Applications can be found at the student support center and will need to be completed and emailed to l.anthony@ppcsd.org by April 24th,2024.

  • 2024 Congressional Art Competition is Live!

    The competition is open to all high school students in NY-18 (grades 9-12). The winning artwork of our district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. Additionally, the winner and a guest will be able to attend the Winner’s Celebration in Washington DC on June 27, 2024. 

     

    Artwork submissions are due to our office by Monday, April 29, 2024 at 5:00PM.

    Art Competition Rules:

    Artwork entered in the contest may be up to 26 inches by 26 inches, may be up to 4 inches in depth, and not weigh more than 15 pounds. If your artwork is selected as the winning piece, it must arrive framed and must still measure no larger than the above maximum dimensions.

    HOW TO SUBMIT: Students should drop off or mail their artwork, along with a complete 2024 Art Competition Student Release Form, to our Newburgh office at 605 Broadway Newburgh, NY 12550. Artwork must be accompanied by a student release form.
