  • Cyber Service Academy (CSA) Scholarship Program

Posted by April Miller on 11/26/2024

The Department of Defense (DoD) offers the Cyber Service Academy (CSA) Scholarship Program, which provides full tuition and support for students pursuing degrees in cybersecurity, in exchange for service in the DoD or Intelligence Community after graduation.

This scholarship program is designed to attract top students into the critically important field of cybersecurity. It covers not only full tuition but also provides stipends for housing and educational expenses and offers students valuable internships and training opportunities with DoD. Upon graduation, students are required to serve in a cybersecurity role within DoD or the Intelligence Community, helping to protect our nation from ever-evolving cyber threats.

In order to apply for this program, students must attend a college or university that is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C), a designation that indicates the institution meets the rigorous standards required to educate the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

The basic requirements for the CSA Scholarship Program include:

    • U.S. Citizenship
    • Enrollment at a NCAE-C-designated institution in a program related to cybersecurity, information assurance, or computer science
    • You must have completed the first year of an associate’s degree; or the first two years of an undergraduate degree program; or be pursuing a master’s degree or doctoral studies
    • A strong academic record and a commitment to serving the country after graduation

I encourage you and your staff to inform students about this exceptional program and its requirements early in their high school careers so that they are aware of the NCAE-C requirement when choosing where to apply for college. By planning ahead and selecting the right institutions, your students can pursue this opportunity once in college and help protect our country while receiving a world-class education, fully funded by the Department of Defense.

Please consider hosting information sessions, sharing materials, or reaching out to students and families to spread the word about the CSA Scholarship Program. I am confident that students at your school have the talent and ambition needed to succeed in this program, and I hope that more of them will seize this opportunity.  Linked here is a one-pager about the CSA Scholarship Program and a list of all eligible NCAE-C designated schools.

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Memorial offers college scholarships of up to $6,000 per academic year ($3,000 per semester) to the children of workers who were permanently disabled or killed on the job and are receiving New York State workers’ compensation benefits. We are hoping that you can help us award scholarships to eligible students by publicizing this information to high school juniors and seniors whose opportunity to attend the college of their choice – or to attend college at all – may depend on this type of scholarship assistance. Students who are currently enrolled in college are also eligible for an award if they meet the scholarship criteria.

A flyer with information about the TSFFM and a copy of the application can be found by clicking here or you can go to the website by clicking here.

We appreciate anything you can do to distribute this information to individual students or to the student population at large – we welcome applications from any eligible students and are anxious to fulfill our mission by providing them with financial assistance for higher education.
