To Parents, Caregivers, and Staff:
The following positive cases have been reported over the past two days;
Duzine Elementary School 1 positive staff member
New Paltz Middle School: 5 positive students
New Paltz High School 2 positive students
I encourage parents, caregivers and staff to be mindful of the recent uptick in positivity rates in the county which has resulted in Ulster County being designated High Risk last week. Masking as a means to control the spread, although not mandated, is still available as a tool to fight the virus.
Please remember, COVID-19 symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus and include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. If your child experiences any of these symptoms, please keep them home from school and closely monitor them. Consult with your child’s doctor for advice whenever needed.
We continue to urge vigilance and responsibility.
Sincerely,
Angela Urbina-Medina
Superintendent of Schools
