(New Paltz, NY) — Ulster County high school seniors planning on putting their college education and eventual career to use towards making our world a better one should apply for The Ulster County 2024 Padraig Julius Tobin Flusser Economic and Social Justice Scholarship

The scholarship award will be $2000 1st Place; $1000 2nd Place; and $500 3rd Place. The scholarship is intended for Ulster County high school seniors enrolled in college in fall 2024, who are pursuing a career path dedicated to social justice, while actively engaged in peace and economic equity efforts.

“The award is a continuation of a New Paltz Village Board scholarship begun in 2021,” said William Wheeler Murray. “It was decided to name the scholarship to honor Padraig Julius Tobin Flusser who strongly believed in the principles of economic and social justice. Initially the scholarship was for New Paltz students but this year we’re opening it up to high school seniors enrolled in Ulster County.”
