Paperless Communications

  • New Paltz Central School District is pleased to offer the following “paperless” communication options to parents:

    1) Receive your school announcements and newsletters via email only. We email everyone, regardless of whether you are “paper” or “paperless”. The difference is that the “paper” folks receive an additional paper copy in the mail, or sent home in your child’s backpack.

    2) Receive your August packet via our web site at https://www.newpaltz.k12.ny.us/packet  and the Parent Portal at https://npcsd.powerschool.com.

    3) View the 5-week middle and high school progress reports through the Parent Portal only. You will not receive a paper progress report in the mail.

    4) View ten-week middle and high school quarterly report cards through the Parent Portal. The only paper copy of the report card you will receive is the final June report card.

Regardless of whether or not you select this paperless communication option, the elementary report cards will continue to be printed for use and distribution during parent conferences.

Some forms that require a signature may continue to go home on paper. Individual teachers and clubs may also continue to send home paper forms, until we fully integrate our paperless system.

The Paperless Communication Option is unique to each child. If you want to go “paperless” for all of your children, please check the “paperless” box for each child separately through:

    1) Our parent portal at https://npcsd.powerschool.com - click on the Paperless Communications icon after logging in; OR

    2) Fill out the attached form and send it to your child's school (one for each child).

*Parent Portal is web-based, which means you can access the portal from any computer. You will be able to view your child’s attendance using Parent Portal regardless of his/her grade level. If your child is in the middle or high school you will have access to viewing his/her assignments, grades, report cards, and more online. All parents are encouraged to create a Parent Portal account at https://npcsd.powerschool.com.
