    To Parents, Caregivers, and Staff:

Today we were made aware of two COVID-19 positive situations that we would like to bring to your attention.

One of our high school students has tested positive for COVID-19.  The student was last in attendance on Friday, January 29.   The student was not symptomatic when last in school.  The student’s exposure was connected to an out of district contact.  No students or staff require quarantines as a result of this situation.  All required reporting to the Department of Health has taken place.

Additionally, one of our Duzine Elementary School students has tested positive for COVID-19.  The student was exposed to the virus in the home and was last present in school on January 29.  The student was not symptomatic when last in school.  No students or staff require quarantines as a result of this situation.  All required reporting to the Department of Health has taken place.

Please remember, COVID-19 symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus and include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. If your child experiences any of these symptoms, please keep them home from school and closely monitor. Consult with your child’s doctor for advice whenever needed.

Once again, we urge vigilance and responsibility. Please do not hesitate to contact the nurse’s office if you have any questions or concerns, however, please understand that student privacy will continue to be protected as required by law.

We hope you will join us in extending healthy wishes to the student and their family for a speedy recovery process.

    Sincerely,

    Angela Urbina-Medina
