Christina Winne Returns to the New Paltz Central School District as Assistant Director of Transportation
The New Paltz Central School District (NPCSD) is excited to welcome Christina Winne as its new assistant director of transportation. Winne began her new role on December 9, which happened to be her birthday—a fitting celebration for her return to a district she calls her “work home.”
Winne began her career in the NPCSD Transportation Department in 2012, when she was hired as a substitute bus monitor. Her dedication and expertise led her to become a bus driver and driver trainer in 2016, and in 2022, she took on the role of bus dispatcher. She subsequently moved on to the Rondout Valley Central School District, where she served as the school bus dispatcher for a year and a half.
Winne is passionate about student safety and is proud to be back at New Paltz, where she is part of a team dedicated to providing a secure and positive environment for students. She shared that it’s incredibly rewarding to “be involved in the important decisions that impact the safety of our kids” and noted how fulfilling it is to “be part of something bigger than yourself.”
Maureen Ryan, director of transportation for NPCSD, expressed her excitement about Winne’s return. “We’re thrilled to have Christina back, bringing her dedication to keeping our student transportation safe and dependable every day!” she said.
